King County Conservation District is currently holding their 2024 Board of Supervisors election for position 1. The volunteer Board is comprised of 2 appointed positions by the Washington Conservation Commission and 3 are elected by registered voters. The Board is responsible for overseeing KCD operations, budget, and setting policy. Supervisors serve three-year terms.
King Conservation District is a nonregulatory, special purpose district, funded by residents, with a mission to promote the sustainable use of our natural resources through voluntary stewardship in King County. King Conservation District provides technical assistance to private residents in forest management, farm conservation planning, wildfire preparedness, and streamside and shoreline enhancement along with resources such as free soil testing, an annual, low cost native plant sale, invasive weed removal, water quality improvement and much more. King Conservation District also works with cities and other organizations to support community gardens, urban forest canopy, and local food systems providing a holistic approach to stewarding our lands and waters but also improving the environmental health of our communities.
